So, blogspot just told me I haven’t posted since October. What the what?! Life happens.  And boyyyy, when it happens, it happens!  We’ve been busy to say the least.  Since October, Drew got hired as a full time Sheriff’s Deputy {aka “LEO” – Law Enforcement Officer}.  I have also taken a new job as a full time Office Manager.  I love my job, but definitely miss being at home everyday with Munchkin!

We went on vacation in December and got engaged on New Year’s Eve.  Being engaged to a LEO isn’t easy… I mean I know it isn’t easy to be engaged period… wedding planning is enough to drive anyone nuts.  Needless to say, piling the changing shifts, crazy stories, and constant worries of your fiance being a new LEO on top of the normal engagement stress is just downright insanity.  We actually ended up putting a hold on the wedding planning for a bit to just focus on us… preparing for LEO to go to the academy, adjusting to the working full time thing, being engaged, house hunting, and trying to plan a wedding all at once was just too much.  We are now in premarital counseling and continuing to learn and love each other a little more each day!

If you get sick of hearing about LEO, sorry… a fiance taking a new job can be a big life shift for a family… Having a fiance/daddy take a new job as a LEO takes your life and flips it on its head… and then shakes it a little, just for good measure.  There are times when it’s a struggle {the LEO’s companion thing}.  There are times when it makes me proud {like, always}.  There are times when it makes me happy {when he helps people}, times it makes me lonely {LEO working nights SUCKS}, and times it makes me crazy {when LEO goes off the grid on duty}.  Most of the time {for now, at least}, though, it just changes me.  Our schedule changes.  Our routine changes.  Our parenting changes.  Our relationship changes.  Our budget changes.  Our eating changes.  Pretty much everything… changes.

Thanks for the support, the phone calls “just because”, and the out-pouring of love we’ve received.  Until next time…
