Group Publishing VBS 2018: SHiPWRECKED

Am I the only person who’s been waiting on the edge of my seat for the 2018 Group VBS theme reveal?  I mean sure, my “waiting on the edge of my seat” is more of an exhausted slump since our Maker Fun Factory VBS just finished… but still… I’m excited!

The “Easy” VBS theme {emphasis on the quotes there – Group calls it easy, not me – haha!} is Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus.
The “Holy Land” VBS theme is Babylon: Daniel’s Courage in Captivity.
The “Weekend” VBS theme has not been announced yet.
The “Cross Culture” VBS theme has been discontinued.

These all sound like fun ideas, but I’m going to focus on the Shipwrecked theme because that’s the one most people {including our church} typically use.  Group literally released the themes half an hour ago {as I’m typing this}, so I don’t have tons of grand ideas yet.  Plus, I still have to finish posting tutorials on what we did for Maker Fun Factory.  Rest assured though, I’m brainstorming 2018 ideas already!  {Side note: Wouldn’t you know – I donated an entire tote box of water-themed decor about a month ago…}

The starter kits are available to order now!  I highly recommend the ultimate starter kit, which includes the digital version of all the starter kit contents.  You can see the starter kit on Amazon.  It’s also available directly through Group as well as through Christian distributors like Concordia.  I always check around to see whose price is lowest.

There are some decorating pictures, an intro video and even the theme song available for download on the Group website!

I started a Pinterest board today!  If you might be using Shipwrecked VBS, make sure to follow my new board on Pinterest for tons of ideas!

Thanks for visiting!  If you know others using the Maker Fun Factory curriculum this year or who may be searching for 2018 curriculum, share this post with them using the links below.  Make sure to follow Borrowed Blessings at the top of the page for more VBS ideas!
