Welcome back to another of my Frugal Cave Quest VBS Craft Ideas!  Make sure to check out the other ideas here.  All great spelunkers need to be able to see while inside the cave!  These glow bracelets are easy and cheap to make {pennies per child}.   This craft is one that could be a great filler if you have extra time in between activities!   These were inspired by Not Consumed.

Supplies:
Glow in the dark bracelets {only 10 cents each!}
Bible verse/quote tag {see template below}
Coloring supplies {optional}
Hole punch
Scissors
Permanent markers

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Print bible verse/quote tags {ahead of time}
    I’ve included templates for tags you can color as well as tags that you just have to print and cut out. These work best if the templates are printed on cardstock or heavyweight paper.  For my tags, I printed each template {of 3 tags} as a 4×6.

  1. Cut out bible verse/quote tags
    All elementary kids should be able to handle this on their own. Preschoolers will need assistance cutting out the tags.
  1. Decorate tags {optional}
    Like I said above, you can spend as much or as little time on this as you want. If you want to let kids color and decorate their tags, print the coloring book templates.

  1. Punch holes in the tag
    The tags need holes to slide on the glow bracelets. Punch one hole at the top and one at the bottom, then slide the tag on the glow stick.  Make sure to label each tag with the kiddo’s name!

Templates
I printed these as a 3.5×5 inch image per set of 3 tags {for a total of 12 tags per sheet of paper}.  Cardstock/heavyweight paper would work best for these.  To use these templates, click on each image then right click to save the photo.  You can use the blank templates for other quotes or bible verses… or even just kids’ names!

Can you tell I was the crafts leader last year?  I was definitely gifted with a crafty/artistic side {aka I enjoy hoarding things that could be used for some project sometime}.  Check out the whole list of Frugal Cave Quest Craft Ideas here!  For more ideas, make sure to follow my VBS boards: Cave Quest, Cave Inspiration, VBS Craft Ideas and Director Goodies.
