Cave Quest VBS: Decorating Spaces – Memory Gems

Our church used Group Publishing’s “Cave Quest” VBS curriculum this summer.  I’ve shared many of our projects, but you may be missing out on a big picture idea of how our spaces looked. Our Memory Gems space was at the back of the sanctuary in one of the overflow areas.  This room was proof that you don’t have to spend a lot of time or money to make VBS special for the kids!  Here’s how we decorated a super simple bible verse area.

Sorry for the poor quality of these pictures – a lot of them are from my cell phone {I’m not sure why my sleep-deprived VBS directing self wasn’t more concerned with taking good pictures! hahaha}.  I’ve listed the supplies below some of the photos, but you can click on the project links for in-depth instructions and more photos.

All of the stations got a laminated sign so VBS kiddos could easily find their way.

Laminated chalk marker signs:
Black cardstock {8.5”x11”}
Chalk markers
Laminating sheets
Laminating machine

This is at the back of our sanctuary, so we just used the stacks of chairs that were already there and zip-tied tarps to the backs.  It was quick and a great way to divide the kids off from the large sanctuary!

We had two tables for students to sit plus another table for supplies.

We added bible verse signs to the walls to brighten things up a bit more!  They have been discontinued, but check out all the other Cave Quest items Oriental Trading still has!

Thanks for visiting our Memory Gems area!  If you know others using the Cave Quest curriculum, share this post with them using the links below.  Make sure to follow Borrowed Blessings at the top of the page for more Cave Quest VBS ideas!  This post may contain affiliate links.  I earn a small percentage of anything you purchase through these links but you don’t pay anything extra.  Thanks for helping to support Borrowed Blessings.
