Upcycled Station Signs – Maker Fun Factory
This weekend, I used free supplies to make some awesome upcycled station signs! One of our church members (who is a former architect) donated a whole stack of old blueprints. I used blue paper leftover from another VBS project to make some large (and FREE) station signs!

Supplies:
-Blueprints
–Blue paper (I had some left over from our other blueprint project)
–King sized Sharpie
Instructions:
1. Find old blueprints. Check with local contractors or architects – many have closets full. Make sure the donors understand that they will not get the blueprints back because we’re writing on them!
2. Decorate blueprints using a king sized sharpie. I wrote one for each of our station names, as well as some signs for general decor (registration, “built for a purpose”, etc).
3. Attach blueprints to blue paper (I used a stapler) – this helps reinforce the lightweight blueprint paper and will make the blueprints stand out on light colored walls.
I was hopeful that this would be a quick way to make a large visual impact, as well as be a functional station sign. These upcycled station signs turned out even better than I imagined! My favorite thing about them is their price tag – FREE!
I am a long-time Vacation Bible School lover. I’ve lead in several capacities throughout the VBS world and am currently our church’s VBS director. It is a joy for me to be able to share VBS ideas and resources with others! I will continue to share ideas here as we prepare for Maker Fun Factory VBS .
