Cave Quest VBS: Decorating Spaces – Foyer Entrance
Our church used Group Publishing’s “Cave Quest” VBS curriculum this summer. I’ve shared many of our projects, but you may be missing out on a big picture idea of how our spaces looked. When kids entered the church through the main entrance, they came into the foyer. The foyer was decorated like the inside of a cave with brown paper walls from floor to ceiling.
Sorry for the poor quality of these pictures – a lot of them are from my cell phone {I’m not sure why my sleep-deprived VBS directing self wasn’t more concerned with taking good pictures! hahaha}. Early in the decorating {the only thing I had done at this point was to hang the pennant banner}
Registration table {this is the view from the main doors}
Registration Table:
–Clipboards
–Pens
–Colored paper for registration forms

–Small tarps {I found mine much cheaper at Menard’s}
–Brown kraft paper

–Black permanent markers
–Duck tape {was the only thing we found that would hold the posterboard to the slick tarps}

–Bulletin Board Letters – used to make posterboard signs

We added some gloves and a flashlight to the props. We don’t use any real helmets to avoid the spread of head lice and other bugs.

We had two “caves” set up for our food drive contest – kids vs. adults.
