  • Side note: I’ve had either a Cameo or Cricut machine for several years now. There are SO MANY uses for them, both at home or in ministry. If you’re not familiar with them, they’re similar machines (just different brands) that will cut out a variety of materials in basically any shape you want.
  • Don’t worry, though: You can either use a Cameo or just a pair of scissors to make these DIY stencils!
  • Laminate an empty laminating pouch for each stencil you’d like to make (if you need 20 stencils, send 20 laminating pouches through the laminator one at a time).
  • Find an image online that you’d like to use as a stencil. Make sure you’re using images legally!
  • For stencils with a Cameo: Trace the shape you’d like as a stencil (ie a cross) in the Silhouette software. Put one sealed laminating pouch on your cutting mat. Cut the traced image. Repeat until you have all your stencils cut.
  • For stencils without a Cameo: Print the image you’d like to use as a stencil on regular printer paper (ie a cross). Sit a sealed laminating pouch on top of the printed cross and trace the outline with a permanent marker. Cut out the cross stencil using scissors or an xacto knife. Repeat until you have all your stencils cut.

You can use these stencils for all kinds of craft projects or decorations! We used them last year for our canvas paintings.
