It could be said that I am both an Amazon junkie and a VBS-aholic.  When these two interests combine, magic happens.  Amazon is an incredible marketplace, if you make it work for you!  Finding the basic Shipwrecked VBS Supplies on Amazon is fairly easy… but here are some tips that may yield you more results!

Change your search terms.  Yes, you can search for Shipwrecked VBS and you’ll find some items.  Try searching for the terms below to see lots more fun items that you may have missed!  I know some of the terms are similar (ie island party and island decorations), but they’ll each pull up different results using Amazon’s algorithms.  Even if the results are similar, you never know what great idea you’ll find from changing your search terms even a little!

• Boat party or Boat decorations
• Luau party or Luau decorations
• Sand party or Sand decorations

2. Pay attention to the “suggested items” at the bottom of an item’s page on Amazon.  For instance, once you click the “beach party” link above, click on one of the items.  Scroll down below the item description and you’ll find two additional sets of products: “Sponsored products related to this item” and “Customers who bought this item also bought”.  These are often related items that I haven’t seen before.  You can find lots of fun ideas in these two sections!

3. Think outside the box: What cultural references (tv shows, etc) would relate to this theme? …Gilligan’s Island!  Are there any Disney shows or characters that would relate?  What animals are included in this theme?  Are there any holidays that would have related decor? …Summer decorations often have a luau/beach theme!  What about birthday party/graduation/baby shower themed kits?  By expanding your search terms and your mindset, there are SO MANY decorating options!  (Now if I could just figure out how to bring the beach onstage without upsetting the board…)
