Group VBS 2019 Basics: ROAR!

Have you herd?! Group’s Easy VBS 2019 theme is Roar: Life is Wild. God is good!  This African theme brings together the scenery of the Lion King with crucial biblical truths to form a fun, interactive, biblically-based VBS program.  (Yes, I’m still recovering from VBS 2018, but having a new program to brainstorm provides a mental escape as I lay here wiped out from our Shipwrecked adventure!)

You can pre-order the Roar curriculum now, although typically they don’t start shipping new VBS kits until December.

Here are the Roar VBS basics:

Station names

• Preschool: Little Paws Preschool
• Opening: Sing & Play Roar
• Stations:
  • Wild Bible Adventures
  • Imagination Station
  • Stampede Sports
  • KidVid Cinema
  • Hungry Herd Café
• Closing: Safari Celebration

Day 1

• Bible Point: When life is unfair… God is good!
• Bible Verse: “The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes.” -Nahum 1:7
• Bible Story: The Israelites are slaves for the Egyptians. (Exodus 1; 5; 6)
• Bible Buddy: Mack

Day 2

• Bible Point: When life is scary… God is good!
• Bible Verse: “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.” -Psalm 23:4
• Bible Story: God sends plagues on Egypt. (Exodus 7:14-12:32)
• Bible Buddy: Hooper

Day 3

• Bible Point: When life changes… God is good!
• Bible Verse: “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.” -Psalm 106:1
• Bible Story: The Israelites enter the wilderness. (Exodus 14-17)
• Bible Buddy: Marge

Day 4

• Bible Point: When life is sad… God is good!
• Bible Verse: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” -Psalm 34:18
• Bible Story: Jesus dies and comes back to life. (John 16-21)
• Bible Buddy: Zion

Day 5

• Bible Point: When life is good… God is good!
• Bible Verse: “Remember the Lord, who is great and glorious.” -Nehemiah 4:14
• Bible Story: The Israelites build a memorial to remember God’s goodness. (Joshua 3-4)
• Bible Buddy: Savanna
