Let’s be real here for a quick minute… we all have limited budgets. We all have items or activities we’d LOVE to include – if only we had the funds. I work to pinch pennies at our VBS where I can, so that we can do more of those “if only…” activities.

Group offers small gadgety toys each night as an object lesson & giveaway in Imagination Station. However, these gizmos are pretty pricey for some churches. Here are some ideas to save money on your Imagination Station supplies:

1. Find similar, less expensive gizmos and use Group’s scripts. These gizmos should be similar to Group’s, so you can use basically the same Imagination Station script with your kiddos!

2. Only purchase enough for one rotation of kids and re-use the gizmos throughout the night. In this case, each kid won’t take home an Imagination Station item at the end of the night (frankly, some parents will appreciate this!). Again, you’ll use the Imagination Station script as written.

3. Find DIY or craft alternatives that also reinforce the day’s lessons. You’ll probably need to modify the script for your Imagination Station leader, depending on what kind of activity you choose and how similar it is to Group’s gizmo.

For years, I’ve hunted to find craft/DIY options for our church’s Imagination Station activities. It is such a blessing for me to be able to share these ideas with you all! Check back here at borrowedblessings.net throughout VBS planning season and I’ll continue to share our ideas with you.

Happy VBSing!
