Roar VBS: Snack Table Decor
Lions and zebras and elephants, oh my… Roar VBS is quickly approaching! This year’s safari-themed VBS is sure to be an adventure your kiddos will cherish for years to come!
I’m super excited to have our table decor figured out for the snack area! We typically do minimal decorating in the snack area. The decorating DVD from Group suggested using textured placemats and animals as table centerpieces – I love this idea! Here’s my table decor supplies – only costs a few dollars per table!

Our snack table decor will only cost a few dollars per table and is super quick & easy! 3 steps: table cover, bamboo placemat and animals – voila!
1 – Kraft paper table cover
We purchased a huge roll of kraft paper a few years ago. It finds its way into every VBS (last year it was part of our waterfall). This year, I’m going to use the brown kraft paper as table cover in our snack area.
2 – Bamboo Placemat
Bamboo placemats cost several dollars each (or more), which is a bit steep just for table decor (for our budget). However, I found these sushi rolling mats for just over $1 each! I love the texture they’ll bring to the center of the tables!
3 – Animals
I’ve researched and read reviews for nearly every safari animal on the internet (no, really…). I think these animals will be the perfect size for our table centerpieces! The animals average 4″ each. The set includes both animals and greenery and has enough pieces for several tables!
Bonus idea
This year, Group doesn’t have the kids writing down their God sightings anywhere. If you want to incorporate written God sightings, you could put a few black markers at each table and let the kids doodle their God sightings onto the kraft paper table cover each evening during snack time!
