Rocky Railway VBS Decorating: Imagination Station (Crafts)

We used our nursery classroom for the Imagination Station (craft) station at Rocky Railway VBS this year. Read on for photos of this station and list of items we used to decorate!

We typically do not use Group’s science gizmos for Imagination Station. Instead, we do crafty activities (take-home crafts, service projects, etc). This is the first year we’ve put the craft station in our church nursery. There’s a sink and large countertop right in the room, so it was really convenient for sometimes messy activities!

Our decor in this room is very simple. We have two tables (there are two crews in each rotation, so each crew is at their own table). We make sure to always have extra trash cans in the craft area.

The only decorating we did in this space was hanging a posterboard train with the bible verse.

Each table has a disposable tablecover (and we keep extras handy, just in case they get messy and need swapped out during the evening). On the countertop you can see our supplies – we have one box for each day’s supplies.

Here’s a close up… each day’s sample craft and instructions are on the counter, then the needed supplies are inside each day’s box.

We hang the daily schedule and weekly overview in every area.

I tried to list most of supplies we used in our Imagination Station craft room. If there’s anything I miss, feel free to add a comment and I’ll tell you where we got that item. I also did a walkthrough video if you’d like to see a quick overview of the whole building.
