Pregnancy Journal Update: 10 Weeks

Pregnancy Journal Update - 10 Weeks - BorrowedBlessings.net

Date: 5/3/16
*1st trimester*
10 weeks {double digits – woop woop!}

SYMPTOMS: a little sciatica/nerve pain, headaches, fatigue, nausea (& a little vomiting)
BABY IS THE SIZE OF A prune {or a cottonball}.

Last time I was at the OBGYN {2ish weeks ago}, they suggested popsicles and frozen items to stay hydrated if water makes you nauseous. After my bout of vomiting from drinking water a few days before the appointment, I appreciated the suggestions! The first few weeks of this pregnancy I was drinking 80-100 ounces of water per day. I’m lucky to get down 30-40 ounces these days {although it’s getting better}. I’ve added in more hydration with lemonade, frozen cokes and popsicles. I usually have 1 large lemonade or frozen coke plus 1 popsicle per day. I’d read that pregnant women sometimes like sour flavored things which I kind of ignored, but I’ve been on a sour green apple jolly rancher kick this week so I guess the sour thing isn’t totally off base. I still haven’t had a single yearning for pickles – yuck!

As we were painting trim at the house this weekend {very well ventilated, don’t worry}, I realized that the smell of paint in a closet is pretty strong. However, the smell of pregnant lady gas in said closet far supersedes the paint smell! Hubby has been great about handling the jobs around the house with things I shouldn’t be around {like sanding the floors}. I’m so ready to be done with renovations!

{FOR MOMMY} I am….
FEELING a little larger on the top half… I have switched to sports bras for comfort and am investing in a few more {I only had one pre-pregnancy because… well… without sports in your life there isn’t a lot of need for sports bras!}.
CRAVING sour green apple Jolly Ranchers, lemonade and frozen coke (still, although these are sort of fading out), grilled cheese (this one is new)
EATING lots of saltines still! I eat several small meals most days and am ready for regular meals at about 9am {no breakfast food needed here – I’ll take arroz con pollo at 9am, thank you very much}.
SLEEPING a lot – and using an extra pillow between my knees has helped with the lower back/upper butt nerve pain. I ordered my pregnancy pillow this week! I’m super excited for it to get here… not sure the hubby is quite as thrilled.
DREAMING vividly and remembering the occasional dream. I think I’m thankful I don’t remember too many of the crazy dreams!
ANTICIPATING our first ultrasound – it’s next Friday!

Thanks for following along on our pregnancy journey! 10 weeks down, 29 weeks to go {give or take a few weeks}.  We would love to have your prayers over the health and development of our little peanut! Check out all of our pregnancy updates and follow Borrowed Blessings at the top of the page.
