Supplies:
–Canvas, a canvas board or a piece of wood
–Paint
–Foam paint brushes
–Tacky glue
–Buttons
-Optional: cross template and pencil
Instructions:
- You can use a canvas, a canvas board or a piece of wood for this button cross! I used a piece of wood that was approximately 8″x10″ (3/4″ thick) because I already had it on hand.
- Paint the board/canvas. I used dark blue acrylic paint (matte finish) and a foam paint brush. You could also use spray paint.
- Either freehand a cross or print a cross template and trace it with a pencil.
- Fill in the traced cross with tacky glue. I traced the entire outline, then zig zagged through the cross.
- Fill the cross in with buttons.
- Ta da! These crosses could also be neat gifts to make for holidays (Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter, Christmas… you name it!). Don’t worry about the tacky glue showing through – as the glue dries, it will turn clear.
