Pregnancy Journal Update: 12 Weeks
Date: 5/17/16
*1st trimester*
12 weeks, 6 days
Weight: 116 lbs. {This is a couple of pounds from where I started out. However, I’m consistently getting physically bigger and the doctor said it’s completely normal to gain and lose for the first several months.}
I can’t believe the first trimester is almost finished! Some people say the second trimester starts at 13 weeks, but most things I’ve seen say 14 weeks. Only one more week of first trimester. My mom and I went to the Dorel factory sale this week, where we got most of the big baby items {car seats, a stroller, high chair, pack & play, etc}. I’m relieved to have the big items – and also relieved that babies are small. I mean, if the baby were much larger, they wouldn’t fit in the nursery with all the goodies we’ve gotten! We don’t know gender yet, but we are referring to the baby as both he and she, depending on the moment. It doesn’t feel right to call the baby “it”! If all goes well, we’ll find out the gender during the anatomy scan at 20 weeks.
SYMPTOMS: fatigue, lots of sleeping, burping, sore breasts, scratchy belly {it is growing!}, acne on my chest and back, headaches, stinky gas {sorry hubby!}
MILESTONES: We got to see our baby for the first time this week! The ultrasound looked good – baby had a strong heartbeat and long legs for his/her age {apparently the child isn’t getting mama’s physique}!
BABY IS THE SIZE OF A plum or a wine cork!
{FOR MOMMY} I am….
LOVING knowing what this baby looks like!
FEELING tired still, but hoping for a boost of energy soon {isn’t there a glow supposed to be happening?!}
EATING lots of carbs – still very little meat! YUCK!
SLEEPING and peeing… peeing and sleeping.
DREAMING crazy things! Thankfully still not remembering many of them.
Thanks for following along on our pregnancy journey! 12 weeks down, 27 weeks to go {give or take a few weeks}. We would love to have your prayers over the health and development of our little peanut! Check out all of our pregnancy updates and follow Borrowed Blessings at the top of the page.
