Last week we “painted” coffee filters using washable markers and water. Today we’re going to use those brightly colored coffee filters to make a sweet decoration or gift!

Supplies

“Painted” coffee filters
Black markers
Laminating machine & laminating sheets (or self-stick laminating sheets)
Hole punch (or scissors)
Ribbon
Scissors

Instructions

Use a black marker to outline a shape on each “painted” coffee filter. I made some hearts and one cross. Make the shapes as large as possible.

Cut out the shapes in the coffee filters. You can throw away the unused edges of the coffee filter after you cut out your shape.

Laminate each shape using either a laminator or self-adhesive laminating sheets. I found a pack of self-adhesive laminating sheets, so I used those just out of convenience.

Hole punch a hole in the top center of each shape. I couldn’t find a hole punch, so I just cut a small slit in each shape.

Cut a piece of ribbon (ours were 10″-12″ long each). Tie the ribbon through the hole so you can hang your sun catcher.

Hang the sun catchers in your windows, or give them as gifts. We’re going to be mailing them to family members in Mother’s Day packages!
