Roar VBS: Decoupage Lion Craft
Lions and zebras and elephants, oh my… Roar VBS is quickly approaching! This year’s safari-themed VBS is sure to be an adventure your kiddos will cherish for years to come!
These decoupage lion crafts are so much fun… plus they’re inexpensive to make! They’ll be perfect either to make as a craft during VBS or to make with your kids before VBS (then you can use them as decor for VBS and get the kids excited about your upcoming VBS program).

Instructions:
- Print lion head templates on white copy paper – 1 per child. (Don’t use thick paper – you need to be able to see the black outline through the back side of the paper after the kids glue the tissue paper on!)
- Print lion body templates on colored card stock paper (any color) – 1 per child.
- Ask kids to “paint” the entire lion head shape with school glue (using a small foam paint brush).
- Once the entire lion head shape is covered in a thin layer of glue, stick tissue paper squares on to cover the entire shape. It’s okay if the tissue paper squares go outside the lion head shape some!
- Cut out the lion head shape.
- Glue the lion head shape to the colored card stock with the lion body printed on it.
- Cut out eye and nose shapes from construction paper or colored card stock paper and glue them to the face. (You could also just use a sharpie to color them on if the glue has fully dried.)
